It vitalizes the center city and provides a community event that is free to the public; attracting hundreds of thousands of people to Downtown Denver to celebrate the holidays.
SATURDAY NIGHT FORECAST: Partly cloudy, cold. Isolated flurries possible late in the day. Morning lows are forecast to be from 0 to -7, afternoon highs from 13 to 19 degrees.
This weekend will actually not be the coldest Parade of Lights on record. In 1985, it was 3 degrees and felt like -15 degrees with the wind chill.
Please help us preserve this free community event by making an online donation. Donations can be made three ways:
- Donate through Colorado Gives: http://bit.ly/185I26z
- Make your contribution on Dec. 10, Community First Foundation's Colorado Gives Day. By donating on Colorado Gives Day, the value of your gift will go further and be increased by the FirstBank Incentive Fund.
- Coming to the parade? If so, make a contribution along the parade route. Major Waddles and his volunteers will make their way along the parade accepting your much appreciated contribution/donations.
Your donation today is a true testament of the parade's regional and broad support and will help sustain the Parade of Lights and keep this tradition alive in Denver for years to come.
