Six years ago, with a handful of students, Cindy Schneider started a community service project. She recruited volunteer students athletes from Fort Morgan High School to collect and deliver living supplies to needy senior citizens.

Three times a year, students deliver boxes filled with food, hygiene products and even gift cards to area seniors.

"It's so that the kids can give back and hopefully pay-it-forward and maybe decide when they are an adult that this is something they've experienced in the past and they want to do it again," said Schneider.

Her community effort has grown to more than 50 volunteer students.

"The residents that live around here know that the kids are coming and they like to see them and talk to them. I've had a lot of kids that have gotten hugs and kisses from the residents, a lot of them have been invited in and offered pop. So they look forward to it as much as the kids," said Schneider.
