Bob Kendrick - 9NEWS Evening Anchor |
|
Bob Kendrick co-anchors 9NEWS at 5, 6 and 10 p.m., alongside Adele Arakawa.
Bob brings 27 years of radio and television broadcasting experience to 9NEWS. His career has taken him from a small radio station in northern British Columbia, all over western Canada, to Florida and here to Colorado.
Before joining 9NEWS, he spent nearly a decade at ABC action news (WFTS-TV) in Tampa, Florida.
Bob anchored the morning and early evening newscasts, in addition to reporting, writing and producing, which of course comes with the territory.
He has won two Edward R. Murrow awards for excellence in feature reporting from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and he's a five-time Emmy winner and seven-time nominee from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Bob's also a recipient of the Hampton Dunn award for best historical coverage in Florida, as well as awards from the Colorado Association of Broadcasters and Florida Society of Professional Journalists for Outstanding Achievement.
For relaxation, Bob's an avid triathlete, skier and hiker. Like all 9Newsers, he's active in the community and particularly proud of his involvement with 'The Forgotten Heroes Project' ,which publicly awards medals to deserving veterans who have never received them.
Bob's been the proud husband of the lovely Kealy for 15 years and father of little Lucy for 5 years and counting.
