Traffic.com's Graeme Nistler helps out by making maps and doing traffic reports in the 5 a.m.,7 a.m. and 8 a.m. hours of 9NEWS.
He began his career in radio in 1993, in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He started at 104 KRBE as a request line operator and worked his way up to weekend DJ. He also worked an overnight shift at 107.5 The Buzz. Then came a two-year stint in Detroit doing nights at 105.1 The Edge. From there, Graeme moved to Denver to host an afternoon show at the now-defunct 96.5 The Peak. Then it was on to Washington, D.C., where Graeme hosted a morning show on 99.1 WHFS, called "Graeme's World".
While in D.C., he began to dabble in television, first as a reporter for "MHZ Rocks" and then as a host of a music show called "Project X", which aired on the local UPN affiliate. It was around this time that he was hired by MTV as a fill-in host for the national cable channel MTV2, where he introduced music videos and interviewed guests.
After a few years in Washington, Graeme moved on to Philadelphia, where he hosted a morning show at the legendary 93.3 WMMR. From Philadelphia, it was on to KCAL FM in Southern California, where he did a midday show and began focusing on both freelance audio and video production. Graeme has voiced a few national radio commercials and presently serves as the station voice for several radio stations across the country.
In 2006, he made the move back to Denver and was hired at Traffic.com. In addition to his traffic duties at 9NEWS, he also produces a monthly segment called "What The Tech", that showcases his enthusiasm for all things electronic, as well as his Pug, Mr. Manpants.
Graeme is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. When he's not at work, Graeme is usually busy with his freelance clients. He also likes reading, working out, golfing, drinking coffee, spending time with his girlfriend Megan and of course, making traffic maps.
