Denver, CO—Excellence in television is a team effort. That’s something that’s proved everyday at 9NEWS and recognized in this year’s Emmy nominations.
Today it was announced that 62 9NEWS employees have been nominated for Emmys by the Heartland Chapter of the National Television Academy. The station as a whole received 76 nominations, including Station of Excellence. That’s double its closest competitor KCNC.

9NEWS reporter Chris Vanderveen received the most nominations at the station, with ten—including two for his general assignment reporting, three for feature stories, and others for writing, journalist enterprise, and an editorial. The 9Wants To Know team was also nominated for its work on Predators @ Your Door—a sting that resulted in the arrest of 16 men, who allegedly solicited for sex with a 14-year-old girl. In addition to all the Emmys, 9NEWS reporters Paula Woodward and Mark Koebrich will be inducted into the chapter’s Silver Circle during the ceremony at the Seawell Ballroom in Denver on Saturday October 21st. The Silver Circle was established to recognize individuals who have devoted a quarter of a century or more to the television industry, and who also have made a significant contribution to broadcasting.
