Denver, CO - - 9Health Fair announced today the winners of its first annual 9Knowledge Awards. The 9Knowledge Awards were created to help provide financial support to graduating high school seniors pursuing careers in health care fields of study and for participating as student leaders organizing a 9Health Fair In the Classroom fair. 9Health Fair In the Classroom is a peer-to-peer education program designed to help students learn from each other about their own health and about other safety and lifestyle options facing them at critical times in their lives. Thanks to a generous grant from the American Honda Foundation in 2005, each 9Knowlege Award recipient will receive $1,000 to use toward their college expenses.

To be considered for a 9Knowledge Awards, students had to meet the following criteria:
Involvement in school, community, and extracurricular activities Demonstration of commitment to health care Minimum grade point average of 3.0 Financial need
Other significant grants awarded to 9Health Fair in 2005 allowed the organization to expand its In the Classroom efforts to include a 9Health Fair stipend to help schools cover preparation costs associated with their fair and creating new activities such as Heroes for Health, Calcium Quest, Step Mania, and Energize Me!.
Students may apply a second year for a 9Knowledge Award if 9Health Fair receives grant funding and if students maintain their eligibility.
