Denver, CO— With tight races for the governor’s office and congressional seats and fourteen state-wide ballot issues to learn about, voting is going to be a difficult task for Coloradoans this November. 9NEWS is ready to help voters sort out all the details, with five debates and robust coverage on air and online.
Tonight 9NEWS will host the first debate in the series—a discussion on the many state-wide issues Coloradoans will decide on November 7th. During the debate sponsored by the University of Denver, people on both sides of the issues will discuss legalizing possession of marijuana, banning gay marriage, and school funding, among other issues. Press is welcome to attend the debate, which starts at 7 p.m. at DU’s Gates Concert Hall. The program will air on 9NEWS on Saturday September 30th at 6 p.m.
As Colorado’s Election Leader—9NEWS will also host debates for the gubernatorial race. Bob Beauprez and Bill Ritter will meet twice during 9NEWS debates. The first on October 12th will focus on business and economic issues and will be streamed live on 9NEWS.com, starting at 11:30 a.m. The second will be a more general discussion, and will be shown live on 9NEWS on October 31st at 8 p.m.
Finally, 9NEWS will also bring together the candidates of two of the tightest congressional races. Rick O’Donnell and Ed Perlmutter in the 7th Congressional District race will meet on September 28th. Marilyn Musgrave and Angie Paccione who are vying for the 4th Congressional District will debate on October 4th. A schedule of the debates are below. All of them will be streamed on 9NEWS.com.
