Aurora Police say Jasmine Fike staged signs of a physical struggle at her home and made a frantic 911 call where the 15-year-old said someone was trying to break into her home and take her.
When officers arrived on scene, she was nowhere to be found.
Police contacted the FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and an Amber Alert was issued.
Now, investigators believe Jasmine is a voluntary runaway and the kidnapping was a hoax and the Amber Alert has been officially cancelled.
The man police were initially looking for as part of the investigation, 37-year-old Franky Session, contacted investigators on Wednesday and police do not believe he played a role in the hoax.
Because of the nature of the 911 call, police believed Jasmine was still in danger. Because of that, the CBI reactivated the Amber Alert for her on Thursday morning.
