According to Colorado State Trooper Nate Reid, the original call of the crash came in at 8:58 a.m. at 10171 S. Deer Creek Canyon Rd.

Cyclist Byron Nix says he was riding with 11 other cyclists when the truck allegedly came up slowly behind the riders and the driver started honking his horn. He then allegedly hit Nix.

"This guy he gets out of the car and I expected maybe a 'hey I'm sorry,'" Nix said. "But he was standing over me and yelling curse words. He took my bike and threw it off the side of the road."

Nix was taken to Littleton Hospital where he was treated and released. The 71-year-old driver of the truck, identified as Andrew Hoover, was not injured.

State patrol says they are investigating the incident as only an accident. The driver was given a careless driving ticket.
Upon investigation, the driver could face other charges, Reid said.

Reid says an official report of the incident will be released Monday afternoon or Tuesday.
