Certified California mechanic Doug Brauner was live at the Auto Show. He talked with 9NEWS anchor Gary Shapiro about not only what the 2013 car season will entail, but the 2014 season too.
"2014 is alive and well. Here in Los Angeles at the L.A. Auto Show, there is a lot of product to talk about. It's the 2014 'Kia Forte.' This thing is completely new, and they designed it right here in southern California. I got to be honest, I think it looks more European as opposed to Korean, but none the less, a lot of people are expected to buy this car when it goes on sale in 2013. [It has] winter-seat ventilation, wider doors in the back and 173 horsepower. This Kia has been on a huge roll," Brauner said.
"This is the all new Sorento from Kia. It's their most popular cross-over vehicle, and one of the reasons is it's value based. You not only get that good price point, but a 10-year 100,000 mile warranty, three-liter V-6, 290 horse power and all of the room inside, and it's made right here in the U.S. in the state of Georgia," Brauner said.
"Alright, arguably one of the most important cars being introduced here in L.A. is the 'Ford Fiesta.' This thing has three cylinders. It's a one-liter engine. Slow? Actually not, it's a zippy ... 123 horsepower and 40 miles to the gallon as you could imagine with the three cylinder. No price yet, but should be around $14,000 when it goes on sale sometime next year," Brauner said.
