The storm system was east of Colorado Monday morning and brought heavier snow to parts of Kansas and Missouri. Locations along Interstate 25, including Denver, Fort Collins and Greeley, saw light snow. The snow is expected to continue off and on through Monday afternoon.
Less than one inch will fall near Denver, Boulder and Castle Rock. Fort Collins and Greeley will get up to an inch and a half of accumulation. The snow will end after 3 p.m. Monday. Skies may even clear in time for midnight celebrations of the New Year.
Meanwhile in the high country, a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect until midnight for mountain areas along and south of Interstate 70. Locations near Crested Butte will see up to 10 inches of snow, while Telluride could get up to a foot.
