Colorado weather forecast: Winter storm coats Colorado in snow

Monday night snow along the Front Range into Tuesday morning totaled 1 to 3 inches in northern Colorado for the Denver metro area the icy, wet, sloppy snow piled up from just over an inch to up to five inches on the north and west sides of town.

Cool air moving in from the north may produce a few flurries around the Denver area after 7 p.m. with no accumulation and ending by midnight.

Skies clear out by early Thursday morning with a slow warm up Wednesday and Thursday. It will be much, much warmer into the weekend with highs soaring to near 60 degrees.

Moderate to heavy mountain snow will be falling in the northern and central mountains from Tuesday evening through Thursday evening with 10 to 20 inches possible by the time the storm ends late in the day on Thursday.
