A new reality TV show called "Married to the Army" documents the wives' experiences while their husbands are oversees.

Two of the cast members talked with 9NEWS anchor Kyle Dyer about what viewers can expect to see on the show.

"It's about seven women who go through a deployment while their husbands are gone for 10 months. They struggle with their own issues," an Army wife said.

They talked about some of the elements they have to battle.

"Being stationed in Alaska has been very challenging. You get the elements of the winter [and] the cold and the darkness," an Army wife said.

"You feel very alone when your husband leaves. You don't know how you're feeling is normal, and when you get together with other women and other people going through what it is that you're going through, you realize that you're not alone," an Army wife said.

They also gave their reasoning for agreeing to do a show.

"I was just tired of feeling misunderstood. The people who are closest to me don't really understand. To have the opportunity to kind of show them and to show others that it's not that we consider ourselves stronger than any other women, just different and I wanted to show America that," an Army wife said.
