Google Trends expert Daniel Sieber talked further about the process of filtering searches.
"This is our 12th annual 'Zeitgeist' or 'spirit of the times.' We went through more than 1.2 trillion searches in the world, creating more than 800 lists," Sieberg said.
Sieber also talked about what some of the leading searches were.
"Whitney Houston tops our search here in the U.S.," Sieberg said.
Zeitgeist compiles data from a hand-full of sources while filtering out repeat queries and spam.
The topics range from pop culture, sports, music, politics and news.
The list will also include data from more than 50 countries, allowing people to access global search trends with interactive data visualizations.
