NEW YORK - In New York City, final preparations are underway as dozens of contestants and their handlers get ready for the 137th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
More than 2,721 dogs will strut their stuff in the famed dog show. Several owners and their prized pets got to mingle at Manhattan's Affinia Hotel while some managed to get in a workout as the annual competition gets underway at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
Organizers say this year's event will showcase entries from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
Organizers say the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is the second-largest continuously-held sporting event in the United States.
