KUSA - For those sick of romantic comedies in the month love, fear junkies can get their fill of thrill with Paranormal Activity 4. The newest addition to the scary movie franchise is currently out on DVD.
Paranormal Activity 4 takes place in 2011 focuses on siblings Alex and Wyatt and Alex's boyfriend Ben, who encounter a scary little boy named Robbie who lives across the street. Alex and Ben use laptops to capture the strange and scary happenings that occur at Alex's house.
Kathryn Newton who stars as Alex says she thinks the movie franchise stands out because the films play mind games with the audience.
"I think that's what's so cool about these movies, is that they're psychological thrillers, so the more you believe the more scared you get," Newton said. "Everyone in their house has felt alone and they've felt scared."
Newton says the movie's use of video chats reflected her own use of chats.
"We did a lot of video chatting and that's so real because I video chat all the time with my friends and I never really pay attention to what's behind me," Newton said. "I'm only looking at what's in front of me."
After acting in the movie, Newton says she is definitely a believer of the supernatural.
"I definitely believe in paranormal activity, "Newton said. "I think there is a little paranormal activity everywhere."
