KUSA - For that perfect Norman Rockwell moment, make your table a real picture on Thanksgiving. Seasonal potted flowers such as mums, kalanchoe and hydrangeas compliment any decor or china pattern. It's easy to just group a few in the center and surround them with small pumpkins, gourds, apples, oranges or pine cones. Add candles as the final touch. There's no right or wrong way to do it, just make it colorful and appetizing.

I'm an advocate of making the "kid's table" the best. Instead of mismatched dishes and paper napkins, go all out. Many children remember and cherish special magical moments. For each child's plate, I like to take small pie pumpkins, cut out the top and insert a small flowering plant. They can take it home as a souvenir of a memorable holiday.

I also take a bit of care with the "pet's table," although I think they appreciate the turkey more than the decorations.

Don't forget to take photos before everybody dives in. Dirty dishes and gravy stains don't cut it in the perfect Thanksgiving shot.
