LAKEWOOD - We shared her story, and you responded. On Sunday night, 9NEWS featured a woman whose home, which was badly damaged in a March fire, was left in disrepair by Disaster Solutions after the company went out of business.

Monday morning, 9NEWS had received more than a dozen calls from restoration companies, builders and other viewers who offered to help with in kind donations, estimates, costs and repairs.

Dawn Baird Myles first shared her story with 9NEWS in late July nearly one month after repairs and refurbishments on her home were set to be finished. Disaster Solutions had set its original deadline for July 4.

More than three months after the deadline, and more than seven months after the fire, Baird Myles has moved back into her home. Some work has been done. However, several floor boards remain uncarpeted, while several walls remain unpainted and all but one outlet are unwired.

Instead of warm air, the heater pumps out the smell of smoke. Baird Myles and her daughter, Brooklyn, have been showering in her sink because their shower is still in shambles.

The reason Disaster Solutions is off the job is because the company has gone out of business, according to owner Dave Newell. Newell has not replied to a 9NEWS request to respond to this story with an on camera interview.

"It was supposed to be my independence day," Baird Myles said. "I have my independence, but my house isn't back to a home and how I want it to be."

Thanks to 9NEWS viewers, Baird Myles's home independence may soon be realized.

One viewer, Mike Solliday with Warren Construction, offered a free estimate and donated materials for the repair effort.

"Sometimes, people just need a hand up," Solliday said.

Monica Bitner with BDR Fire/Water Restoration and ServPro of Arvada offered repairs and restoration refurbishment pro bono. ServPro offered to have her home ready by Thanksgiving. Countless others have volunteered to provide labor.

"This is just an answer to prayer," Baird Myles said. "I can't even come up with the words."
