VIEW SLIDESHOW DENVER - Former Denver Broncos defensive back John Lynch along with current Broncos star Champ Bailey and several other past and present players gathered Monday to rally awareness for a center founded for their fallen teammate.
Lynch and Bailey were at Morton's in the Denver Tech Center to rally awareness for the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club, specifically the new addition of the Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center.
The center, which opened on May 29 at 4397 Crown Blvd. in Denver's Montbello neighborhood, provides a gathering place for youths ages 13 to 18, allowing them to socialize, play video games, work on homework, plan and implement service projects, and avoid unsafe activities and influences.
"It's great to be here for this, for him," Lynch said to a group of reporters inside the steakhouse. "It's important we keep this cause going."
In addition to all ticket sales from the Morton's event going towards the center, there was also a silent auction with sports memorabilia from not just the Broncos, but several unique NBA, NHL and MLB items to help benefit the cause.
Also there to show support were Rod Smith, Brandon Marshall, Boss Baily, Nate Jackson and Ebenezer Ekuban.
