Born in Tennessee in 1941, Odell Barry attended Findlay University. He played for the Denver Broncos from 1964 to 1965 and made Colorado his home.

Mr. Barry owns his own real estate company; opened Colorado's largest Dairy Queen and worked with the sports program in the Northglenn Recreation District.

Odell was elected to the Northglenn City Council in 1975 and in 1980; he served as Northglenn's first African-American mayor.  He held that position until 1982 but is still actively involved in the community.

Mr. Barry is married to his wife Glenda and they have two sons.  They still reside in the Denver metro area.
