9NEWS - Programming - Weekends - Salvation Army holiday help registration sites open Monday

DENVER - Many struggling families in the Denver metro area are already worrying about how they will make the holidays happen this year but one organization is offering some help.

Beginning Monday, the Salvation Army will start registering families for food and toy assistance. The registration will take place at six Salvation Army locations in the metro area and last until Nov. 7.

To register be sure to bring:

-Proof of address

-Verification of income

-2 Utility bills (Xcel, water)

-Picture ID of person registering

-Rental receipt or mortgage statement

-Birth certificates of children in household

Eligible families will receive food boxes and toys between Dec. 17 and Dec. 23.
