KUSA - Halloween is just a few days away and the kids are certainly excited! Whether you are celebrating at school, with neighbors or just with your family, here are a few easy ideas to make your HOWLiday extra special.

Frightfully fun food:

Blood worms: Slice hot dogs lengthwise into sixths. Place them in a crock pot with BBQ sauce. A great gruesome dinner for before or after trick or treating!

Fruit Candy Corns: Use a party pick to layer a chunk of cantaloupe, a chunk of pineapple and a mini-marshmallow. Looks just like a candy corn!

Franken Cakes: Purchase a frozen pound cake. Frost the cake with green icing (white icing tinted green with gel food color). Add chocolate sprinkle hair, peppermint patty (cut in half) eyebrows, DOTS candy eyes, candy corn nose, licorice mouth and Tootsie Roll bolts.

Pumpkin Cake: Purchase two angel food cakes (or bake your own if you have time). Place one upside down and the other one on top (so the cakes are bottom to bottom). Mix Solo apricot filling with whipped topping and frost cakes. Add a green cake ice cream cone as a pumpkin stem and a jack-o-lantern face if desired.

Frozen Bites: Purchase plastic vampire fangs. Scoop a small scoop of your favorite ice cream. 'Bite' the fangs into the ice cream and drizzle with a bit of strawberry sauce 'blood.'

Terrifying Table Decoration:

Spider light: Take a votive candle in a glass container and wrap 4 black pipe cleaners around the glass, shaped to look like spider legs. Add a black pom-pom head with googly eyes.
Pleasing Pumpkin carving:

Have the whole family get together to make one unusual pumpkin. Roll a dice and depending on what you roll, you get to carve that part of the pumpkin:
1- eye
2- nose
3- mouth
4- eyebrow
5- ear
6- hair
