KUSA - Advice columnist Dear Abby says people scouring malls
and the Internet for last minute gifts can also look into
their closets.
She says regifting is a "time-honored tradition"
and "the earliest form of recycling."
Among the items often regifted are vases, scarves and cologne.
However, advocates say there are several rules to follow:
- Make sure your gifting 'circles' are far apart to prevent
giving a gift to its original owner or an associate.
- Also avoid leaving any signs of the original gift such
as a card or wrapping.
- And says "Dear Abby," make sure the gift is
suitable. She says "Don't give knitting needles to
an athlete."
