Dentists provide free dental care for kids

KUSA - Over 200 uninsured children from low-income families in Colorado will receive free dental education and treatment from Colorado dental Association dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and dental students from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.

Give Kids a Smile Day is a nationwide program. Appointments must be made in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The program is targeted to kids who do not have dental insurance.

Give Kids a Smile Day is on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

February is National Children's Dental Health Month. An estimated 7.8 million hours of school are lost every year in Colorado because of oral pain and infection.
