KUSA - More than 2,000 cyclists rode through Summit County in the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation's Courage Classic bicycle tour presented by ProLogis.
From July 20 to 22, hospital supporters traveled over picturesque high-altitude passes and around beautiful lakes during the 155-mile cycling event.
In its 24th year, the Courage Classic helps Children's Colorado achieve its mission to improve the health of children through high-quality, coordinated programs of patient care, education, research and advocacy. Children's Colorado ranks among the Top 10 in the U.S. News & World Report 2013-14 Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll, and as the region's only nonprofit children's hospital, it depends on the philanthropic support of the community during fundraising events such as the Courage Classic to continue its quality care. In 2012, the Courage Classic's loyal riders and supporters raised more than $2 million for Children's Colorado. In total, event riders and supporters have raised more than $28 million since the event's inception in 1989.
