Amazon.com, Macy's, Sears and Leon Max - which does business as Max Studio - have agreed to pay more than $1,25 million total in civil penalties to settle federal charges they falsely labeled and advertised products made of eco-friendly bamboo fibers.

The Federal Trade Commission claims the products were actually woven from rayon.

The four companies did not admit to any wrongdoing, but under the settlement agreement, they will be required to ensure their labels and ads accurately indicate their fiber content.
