DENVER (AP) - Colorado will receive $3 million from drug manufacturers accused of Medicaid drug fraud.

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said Monday that about $2.9 million of the settlement money will come from Pfizer Inc., and the remainder from three other manufacturers. He said the companies were accused of improperly marketing their drugs and paying doctors for prescribing their products.

The money from Pfizer, the world's largest drug maker, is part of a settlement announced by federal prosecutors in September.

Attorney General spokesman Mike Saccone says the money will end up in Colorado's general fund budget but it's not immediately clear what money will be used for.
