It cares for patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease.
It also offers clinical care, integrated-treatment plans, personalized-care teams and health-management services.
As of Sept. 30, DaVita has operated or provided administrative services for more than 1,900 different outpatient dialysis centers throughout the U.S. Over 150,000 patients have been cared for in this span. The company also operated 24 outpatient dialysis centers in five different countries.
On Friday morning, Davita CEO Ken Thiry explained some of the hardships the company may experience in 2013.
"A significant number of headwinds including lots of questions about what will happen if Congress fails to reach a budget compromise," Thiry said.
