ARAPAHOE COUNTY - Xcel Energy says about 1,300 customers, including the Arapahoe County courthouse and jail, are without power Wednesday morning.

The outage is causing significant issues at the courthouse as people are not able to get through security, elevators are not running and the courthouse is dark. The jail has reverted to supplemental power while the issue is being handled. The courthouse is expected to reopen at 1 p.m.

Xcel Energy says they received a call about the outage at around 10:30 a.m. They have dispatched crews which are actively working on fixing the problem.

The boundaries of the outage, which was caused by a construction accident, are Jordan Road and Peoria Street to Arapahoe and Compark Boulevard.
