DENVER – Business is booming for auto repair shops in the metro area because of the recent snow storms and ice-covered streets.

Goodyear and Firestone outlets in south Jefferson County say their repair and tire sales businesses are almost too tough to handle. Many motorists must get on waiting lists and wait days for simple repairs.

Don Wilson, manager of the Aspen Goodyear on West Crestone Avenue in Littleton, says his business is up 25 percent.

“As much as I hate to rely on everyone else’s misfortune, this is good for us,” said Wilson.

The manager of a Checker Auto Parts on South Wadsworth Boulevard also says sales are booming.

He says the store was sold out of window washer fluid, tow straps and car chains.
