According to Littleton Police, at 11:47 p.m., a family member entered a home in the 8200 block of South Santa Fe Drive and was stabbed.

The family called 911, and Littleton Police arrived on the scene to help. The man who was stabbed multiple times succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to police, the victim entered through the front door because it was common for him to visit the home. Officers say he had a key to the house because his family lived there. Police say they are not sure if the victim used his key when he entered the home.

Investigators say the man accused of stabbing the victim was a family member. There was another family member in the home at the time of the stabbing.

No names or ages have been released.

People in the neighborhood are surprised.

"It's a shock to everybody," Lon Loomis, the community manager, said.

"Some horrible tragedy has gone on here. I'm just feeling really sick about what's happened," George White, a neighbor, said.

Neighbors say a woman named Judy Jones lives in the home. Police would not say whether Jones is related to either of the two men.

"She's a grandmother, just a wonderful person who would do anything for you. [A] very sensitive, warm family person," White said.

Loomis says there are rumors it was a drug deal gone bad.

"What we're asking everybody to do is just calm down, don't jump into any rumors, don't make any assumptions until we know the facts," he said.

Littleton Police detectives are still working with the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office to investigate. No formal charges have been filed as a result of the stabbing.
