Brandon Tenorio was arrested Jan. 14 and is facing charges of sex assault with unlawful sexual contact. Police tell 9NEWS at the time of his arrest, Tenorio was a student at DU.
The University of Denver's Campus Safety Office declined to speak to 9NEWS about the investigation or make any comments on the information the department has already publicly put out through a crime alert and the student newspaper Clarion.
On Jan. 7, Campus Safety published a crime alert detailing several incidents on campus. The crime alert informed the students about "multiple sexual assault reports that occurred over an eight-month period at Vista Lofts and Nagel Hall."
According to the Crime Alert, the victims knew the suspect, and alcohol and possibly a date-rape drug may have been used in the assaults.
The University of Denver's Newspaper Clarion published an article Jan. 15, saying the sex assaults occurred from October 2011 to May 2012. It isn't clear how long victims waited to report the assaults. The paper also put the number of assaults at four.
Denver Police, citing an on-going investigation, would not tell 9NEWS how many victims they were investigating. DPD was not releasing Tenorio's mug shot either, because of pending photo lineups.
DU responded with the following statement:
"The safety of students, faculty and staff is always a high priority. The victims in this case are our main concern and we are providing them with resources and support."
