EDWARDS - The Eagle County Sheriff's Office is investigating a catholic school after three sixth grade students were allegedly punished by putting duct tape across their mouths.
A sheriff's department spokesperson says a parent at St. Clare of Assisi in Edwards filed a complaint a few days following the incident.
Eagle County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Shannon Cordingly says the complaint involves a Spanish teacher who allegedly had three students tape their own mouths shut because they had been talking during class.
According to the sheriff's department, the school is investigating the incident but no action has been taken against the teacher.
The sheriff's department expects to decide whether or not to file charges by next week.
