Suspect identified in university thefts

CU-Boulder Police and Lakewood Police obtained a search warrant for Raymond Webster Hamilton, 26, of Denver.

According to police, Hamilton pawned an iPad just hours after it was stolen from the CU-Boulder Visual Arts Complex on July 25.

On Oct. 17, five wallets and a laptop were stolen from an academic building and the University Medical Center. Three wallets were stolen on Oct. 19 at the Colorado School of Mines. On Oct. 24, someone stole wallets and purses from 14 offices at CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Surveillance video shows a man resembling Hamilton. From Oct. 2 until Oct. 20, CU-Boulder Police documented 15 cases of stolen laptops and wallets stolen from common areas.

The outstanding warrants on Hamilton are in connection with providing false information to a pawn broker, possessing stolen property and a parole violation.

Hamilton is described as 5 feet 11 inches and weighs 185 pounds. If you know where Hamilton is, contact CU Police dispatch at 303-492-6666.
