DENVERĀ - The state's Air Pollution Control Division has a new way of alerting Coloradans about unhealthy air quality.
Instead of using the red stop sign icons, on days when there is poor air quality or poor visibility, the division will call for an action day. It will be similar to those issued during the summer months for ground-level ozone.
"For the few people out there that are still burners, for the red days, they used to look for red days, they need to look for action days because those action days are what will restrict burning to approved devices only," Christopher Dann told 9NEWS.
The wintertime high pollution season runs through the end of March for the seven-county Denver Metro Area.
