DOUGLAS COUNTY - Residents in Douglas County who missed the last 9NEWS Shred-a-thon event have another opportunity to both shred personal documents and recycle electronics.

The event runs Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Douglas County Justice Center parking lot. The center is located at 4000 Justice Center Way in Castle Rock (approximately I-25 and the Founders/Meadows Parkway exit).

If you are going to be shredding documents, you can bring up to three boxes or bags of paper. It's free, but staff members will be taking donations for Crime Stoppers.

The following electronics will be accepted on Saturday: desktop computers, laptops, printers, batteries, cables/electronic wiring, cameras, copiers, fax machines, hard drives, other storage media, keyboards and computer mice, microwave ovens, monitors, phones, scanners, servers, stereo and video equipment, TVs, typewriters, VCRs/DVD players and medical equipment.

There will be a disposal fee of $5 for each computer monitor, a fee of $20 for televisions smaller than 24 inches and $40 for televisions larger than 24 inches. Fees will pay for the disposal of the electronics.

Large home appliances, like refrigerators and washing machines will NOT be accepted.
