9Wants to Know has learned investigators have now tied the Shaggy Bandit to bank robberies in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Arizona.

They are also investigating the man in connection with an attempted robbery on Tuesday afternoon at the US Bank, 61425 S. Parker Rd. in Aurora.

He is also accused of robbing banks in Albuquerque, N.M. on June 30, Hutchinson, Kan. on July 14 and Flagstaff, Ari. on July 8.

Investigators call him the "Shaggy Bandit" because he looks like "Shaggy" from "Scooby-Doo."

In all, he has successfully robbed 13 banks and attempted to rob four others. On three occasions, he entered a bank but left without obtaining any money; however, on those same days, he continued on to another bank where he was successful, according to the FBI.

Investigators think there is a second person waiting in a get-away car outside the banks, but at this time they do not have a description of that person.

He is described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, he has a slim build, is between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and has blondish hair. He may have facial hair and acne or pock marks on his face. He usually wears a hat and carries a backpack.

Officials say he enters the bank and approaches the victim teller without drawing much attention to himself. He verbally demans  monedy and displays a dark colorado backbpack.

The Shaggy Bandit is assumed armed and dangerous due to the nature of the crime being committed. No gun or other weapon has been seen by victims or witnesses.
