DENVER - It's been five months and still no answers for a family whose son was murdered. But Ivory Meddford's family has not given up hope his killer will be found.
Police say they have very little to go on in this case, and getting the victim's story out is this family's best hope. Investigators say often someone sees a story like this and calls with information that breaks a case.
"It's a mystery. We need the publics help on this," said Detective Mark Crider of the Denver Police Homicide Unit.
On an early morning last May, Meddford's body was discovered next to a bus stop in the Whittier neighborhood - that's between City Park and Five Points.
"We know a few hours prior to the shooting he was in the downtown LoDo area, we believe he left there around 2 a.m. and came to this area. Probably the most important information we want right now is who he was with in LoDo and who he left LoDo with and if he went anywhere in between," said Crider.
Despite the lack of information, Meddford's family still believes the mystery will be solved.
"I can understand people dying from sickness or a car accident but not to get blown away several times by bullets, that's a coward who did this and we want him caught," said Patricia Rush, Meddford's mother.
But the family knows the police need help.
"Whoever did this, somebody knows out there and I want you to please don't be a coward, come forward," said Rush.
