While most Colorado kids are hitting the pools and park, those attending Manual High School will be hitting the books starting Monday.
School officials say they believe the extended school year will offer more time for academic and enrichment opportunities.
Manual High School will start seven weeks earlier than the rest of the Denver Public School district.
The extension means they will have 210 school days.
School officials say 25 of those days will be allocated to off-campus learning excursions, such as college campus visits throughout the state and country.
