The Democratic governor said Monday that Colorado has been served well by Tarpey's background in energy, telecommunications and transportation. He says Tarpey has helped Colorado establish solid, fair rules and regulations for protecting the environment and promoting business.
Tarpey has served on the commission since January 2008 after being appointed by then-Gov. Bill Ritter.
His reappointment is effective Jan. 7, 2013, for a term expiring in January 2017.
Tarpey's career has included serving as a special agent with the FBI, an attorney, an administrative law judge for the PUC and an assistant attorney general representing the PUC.
