Larry Gomez was shot by Denver Police after a chase that ended in Aurora Friday night.
He was placed in police custody and transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.

Gomez faces charges in Denver for attempted homicide of a police officer and aggravated motor-vehicle theft. Charges are pending for a Westminster shooting.

The chase began when police say they received a tip Gomez was at a Denver residence. When they arrived, police say they observed Gomez drop someone off at the home and drive away.

Police say they followed Gomez for a short time and tried to pull him over, but Gomez allegedly sped off.

The chase eventually ended when a Denver police officer used a PIT maneuver on northbound I-225 and East Illiff Avenue. Gomez was shot by police as he tried to flee on foot.

Gomez allegedly shot at a Westminster police officer during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning. The bullet grazed the officer, causing minor injury.

The case is similar to one that Denver police had been investigating which happened early Tuesday morning. Denver officers were conducting a traffic stop when the driver exchanged gunfire with officers, then fled the scene.

The gray 2000 Cadillac Deville was seized by Denver Police.
Gomez has a lengthy criminal record, including arrests for domestic violence, drug possession and robbery.
