"We could very well say no marijuana allowed on campus. That is a very realistic end to all of this. But we have to have the discussion," CSU Spokesperson Mike Hooker said.

"Nothing is certain at all about how Amendment 64 will affect Colorado State University and what actually happens here on campus," he added.

Will Amendment 64 have an effect on recruiting students?

"We saw some comments on Twitter, for instance, that were saying, 'oh great I'm going to come to CSU now. I want to go to school in Colorado, because Colorado is going to allow marijuana.' So, there's sort of that social media buzz. We have no intention of promoting the university based on anything like that," Hooker said.

Hooker also says the question has been raised whether CSU's Extension Office would help by offering tips on growing marijuana.

"No. It's still a banned substance under federal law, and we'll follow federal law in terms of the types of work the extension folks do," Hooker said.
