9NEWS HOLIDAY GUIDE

Earhart was at Station 1 on Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue talking with firefighters about how busy it was at the station.

"You know it's a blast. It is busy, we have lots of calls throughout the day," Josh, a Denver firefighter, said.

The firefighter also talked about what it's like to work on a holiday.

"You know that people are cooking their turkeys, having fun. We want to make sure that goes uninterrupted," Josh said.

Earhart wants to make people aware of the emergency-responder efforts across the city. This is why she was reading comments from the 9NEWS Twitter and Facebook pages commending these responders on their efforts.

Laurie Mac was one of those people who commented.

"Being the widow of a former Denver firefighter, I say a blessing everyday to protect first responders. Your job is not easy. You miss family events and not all of you is appreciated. Thank you so much for your calm in the storm, the quick actions you take, the lives you save, protect and serve. You are all special to me. Thank you today and everyday," Mac said.
