It's all he does, and he does it very well.

The proof lies in the fact that Miles Bergner hit a Longmont high school record breaking 55-yard field goal.

"Miles wanted to come in and just be a kicker and to be honest it wasn't received very well," Longmont head coach Doug Johnson told 9NEWS. "But midway through his sophomore year we realized he's totally committed to this and can help our football team."

He handled the punts, field goals and kickoffs for the Trojans, and that leg of his is expected to take him to Texas in January. Bergner will punt in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game.

"My teammates are the people who put me in position to do this, where I can do this," Bergner told 9NEWS. "My coaches, they're the one's who stick me out on the field. Personally, I feel like I have the best special teams unit in the country, but that's up for debate."

"He loves kicking like I love the game of football, that's really cool, and I really respect that," Johnson added.

Bergner will be a division one kicker next year, but the All-American Bowl is his final piece of business as a Trojan.

"It's even a bigger honor to represent this high school. The school is the centerpiece of the town. It's just amazing to play as a Trojan one last time, and defend the honor and pride of the school the city and the state," Bergner said.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is on Saturday January 5th. It airs on 9NEWS.
