Besides the actual cost of the Super Bowl tickets in New Orleans, here's the breakdown of what it would cost you to attend:
Round trip tickets from Denver to New Orleans are currently running anywhere from $525 to $855, depending on whether you fly back Monday (being more expensive) or Tuesday.
For those who are thinking of driving (at about $3.00 per gallon with an average 25 MPG), it would cost you about $330 to drive the 2,800 miles round trip.
Whether you fly or drive, you're going to need a hotel room, and those prices are rising every day. Currently, if you want to stay in New Orleans, hotels are going for about $415 per night or if you don't mind staying just outside the city, hotels are about $220.
You may want to rent an RV.
A class C RV that sleeps four to five people will run you on average $800 for 5 days. The gas for the trip would round out to about $840 (still figuring about $3.00 a gallon and 10 MPG).
That brings you to $1,640.00 for the RV option If you divide that with another couple this could be the least expensive and possibly the most fun.
No matter who you figure, going to the Super Bowl this year is going to cost you a pretty penny.
