The Longmont Times-Call says Kendra Rae Balentine was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death. She appeared in court on Tuesday and charges were filed against her.
Authorities say a 16-year-old Denver boy who was running from a fight was hit and killed in Longmont just before midnight Monday.
Investigators say Balentine was related to some of the people involved in the scuffle, but they don't believe she intentionally hit the boy.
Balentine plans to post bond on Tuesday. The judge reduced the bond to $50,000 from $100,000.
According to the pastor of her church, Balentine was at church at the time of the accident. However, it was revealed in court on Tuesday that two of Balentine's brothers were at the fight at the time of the hit and run.
