According Northglenn Police, the incident began near the Ramada Inn on East 120th Avenue. Officers stopped a vehicle seen leaving the hotel because the driver was weaving.
When two officers approached the vehicle, they say a man in the back seat shot at them. Neither officer was hit.
The officers chased the suspects, and were continually shot at during the pursuit. The chased eventually ended near E-470 & Washington Street in Thornton. Two men and two women were captured in a nearby field after a short foot chase.
Charles Chacon, 29, Desiree Pitts, 20, and Jeremy James, 28, were charged with criminal attempt homicide, first-degree assault on a police officer, felony eluding, and other charges. They're being held at the Adams County Detention Center.
The other suspect, a woman, was questioned and released.
