Andre Jackson, 42, Samuel Sims, 41, and Jackie McConnell, 38, were charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder. Jackson and Sims are charged with sexual assault, also.
On June 12, 1994, Denver Police responded to the 3200 block of Larimer Street and found three people who had been attacked and tortured, and one who had been sexually assaulted. Two of the victims died. The victim who survived told police that several intruders came into his home around 3 a.m., demanded items of value and then attacked them.
The case remained unsolved until it was re-opened as part of Denver's Cold Case Project and DNA evidence linked the defendants to the crime.
Jackson and McConnell are in custody in the Denver Detention Center being held without bond. Sims is in custody in Wichita, Kansas.
