The Military Veterans Employment Expo runs through Jan.18 with more than 130 companies looking for workers.

The job expo is organized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. So far, more than 650 people have registered for the job fair.

"When you see on their resume, I can field strip an M64 in 34 seconds, that doesn't resonate with most corporations," said Rear Admiral Dick Young, who helped organize the expo through the ESGR.

So, dozens of hiring managers and recruiters helped people like Marc Fedo change or update their resumes to help them find jobs.

"Some of your army work and career is not always recognized," Fedo said.

Fedo is currently a reservist. He is now looking to get back into full-time work as a manager for a strong corporation.

"I've been a manager in the military for the last...25 years," he said as he re-worked his resume at the expo Wednesday.

Former Air Force Master Sergeant James Gross said he's looking to move into a new job. He has looked for work for the past three months after retiring from the service.

"I'm going in with the mindset that there's somebody there that wants to give me a job," he said. "They just don't know me yet, and once I introduce myself, once I give them my resume, once I talk to them, they will go, 'this is the guy I want.'"

Both small and large businesses, government and financial organizations are hiring at the Expo, including Frontier, Ball Aerospace, Comcast, TeleTech, Sam's Club, Veterans Green Jobs and government agencies.

Jan. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. classes on resumes, interviews, translation of military to civilian, mentoring, mock interviews and resume help will be available.

The Job Fair is on Friday, January 18th.

On January 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Meet with companies and employers who have jobs for Military and Veterans.

All events are at the LeaderQuest Building, 6825 South Galena, Centennial Colorado
