Michail Valdez, 38; Chuck Montoya, 34; Jude Montoya, 21, and Alyssa Moralez, 21, are all being held for various charges including four counts of criminal attempt murder of a peace officer. A fifth suspect was shot and killed by police. That person's name has not been released.
Denver Police Sgt. Bob Motyka was shot in the shoulder during a pursuit of the suspects that ended in a crash at West 38th Avenue and Osage Street. He is expected to recover.
This all started early Wednesday morning when a four month old baby died at a home in Thornton.
Thornton Police do not call her death suspicious.
The baby's father, who did not live at the home, came over and pulled a gun on the baby's step-grandfather, according to the step-grandfather who did not want to be identified.
That gun did not go off.
"He pulled it out and pulled the trigger. It didn't go off because the safety was on. He said that I was the cause of him not seeing his kids," the step-grandfather said.
The suspect took off, and Thornton Police put out an alert for the red pickup.
That led to the eventual police chase that ended in Denver's Lower Highlands neighborhood.

One suspect was hospitalized in critical condition, one suffered a dog bite, and a female suspect sustained injuries believed to be from the crash at the scene.
Denver Police met with people who live in that neighborhood Thursday night to hear their concerns about how everything around the shooting and chase was handled, including the lockdown of area schools.
